Concerts

We give public concerts, usually featuring solos by our students, with regular engagements at St John’s Greenhill, Harrow, in their lunchtime series. Other engagements have included performances at the retirement complex, Whiteley Village near Weybridge; Notting Hill May Fest; St Jude’s Music and Literary Festival; St James’s, Piccadilly; St Sepulchre-without-Newgate and Toynbee Hall; one-day workshops at Lea Barn, Berkshire; outreach activities such as playing on the wards of the National Hospital for Neurodisability, and, for two Christmases, entertaining at the Crisis centres in London. We also collaborate to give joint concerts with other groups, viz. The Lauderdale Suzuki Group, Imperial College Strings Ensemble and Ballet4Life.

In 2008 we participated in ‘Play to the Nation’ on Radio 3 as part of a Making Music/BBC project to highlight the work of amateur orchestras nation-wide and, in 2007, in a Making Music and Notting Hill Housing Trust pilot project on Music and Health.
